176 London Circuit, Canberra ACT 2601
This exhibition, in the Open Collections Gallery at CMAG, includes the work of more than 40 ceramicists who have lived and worked in the Canberra region. Some were involved with the beginnings of art practice in the nation’s capital in the post-war period, and many have been associated with the ANU School of Art in its various manifestations from its beginnings as a branch of East Sydney Technical College to its international status today. Some of the work in this exhibition has been made by artists for whom ceramics is just a part of their artistic practice, while for most of the artists represented here ceramics has been their principal calling. There are some surprises in this exhibition, and some old friends.
