Cross Casting is an innovative exhibition by emerging artists Charles Walker, working in glass, and Verney Burness in ceramics. Burness and Walker are merging concepts ideas and practices. They seek to push boundaries and step out of conventions in order to diversify the aesthetic potential of their materials.
Freezing, heating and experimental processes such as fragmentation, breakage and assemblage are used to examine the relationship between seemingly incompatible materials; ceramic, glass, recycled bronze and found stone.
Inspired by changing landscapes and the forces that create them , the works raise contemplation and reflection of our selves in relation to nature as constructive, creative and destructive agents.
