Coinciding with the 14th Australian Ceramics Triennale in Canberra, Art Monthly Australia’s July issue is specially guest-edited by Glenn Barkley (formerly senior curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia) and themed around contemporary art’s recent ‘rediscovery’ of the previously overlooked medium of ceramics.
Included in the issue is a roundtable discussion between contemporary practitioners such as Kirsten Coelho, Emily Hunt and Vipoo Srivilasa, artist pages by Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran, Grace Cochrane’s essay on Janet DeBoos (July’s cover artist), and a tribute to the late Margaret Tuckson (1921 – 2014).
