Date: Monday 6 July 2015
Time: 6:30pm – 10pm
Venue: ANU Food Co-op
Address: 3 Kingsley St Acton ACT 2600
Join Stepping Up Public Programs team members Richilde Flavell, Zoe Slee and Isabelle Mackay-Sim for a relaxed evening of ceramics fun for the general public and conference goers alike.
This event will be on the Monday of the conference week, July 6th, held at the ANU Food Co-op. Clay//Food//Music will be an evening of making, eating and dancing, all in the name of clay and community. The night will be centred around the communal making of a “slip graffiti” tableau: an ephemeral image made with layer upon layer of coloured slip, highly patterned and richly textured with stencils and sgraffito. Local artists will be contributing their beautiful bowls and beakers to be sold on the night and filled with hot soup and drinks to fend off the Canberra chill. All this will be accompanied by live local music, picking up its tempo in the later hours for some dancing to end the evening with a bang.
